Günztal cultural landscape foundation

Creating living space

We at Saliter have been supporting the Foundation as a sponsor for many years and want to use this article to draw attention to the Foundation’s important work, which primarily consists of carrying out nature conservation activities and realising species protection projects in order to further expand the region’s biotope network – from the Allgäu to the Danube.

From Cotton Grass to the Kingfisher

Since its establishment in 2000, the work of the Foundation has already achieved a great deal of visible success for nature by acquiring land and creating biotopes. In doing so, for example, many rare animal and plant species have returned to the Günztal Valley – from beautiful orchids and cotton grass to butterflies and dragonflies and even rare bird species such as the kingfisher. The foundation has also helped the endangered Allgäu Original Braunvieh cattle to reclaim their original habitat.

Man in Harmony with Nature

In addition to these tasks, the Foundation also supports other project organisers such as municipalities, associations or specialist authorities in their activities for the Günztal biotope network as an expert advisor and service provider. Numerous events, school projects and other PR activities are also being realised to raise awareness of the relevance of the Günztal Valley and its flora and fauna.

The aim of the Foundation is not to leave nature to its own devices, but to protect and preserve nature – which was created together with humanity. This also includes making nature accessible and tangible.

We at Saliter are proud to be part of the Foundation and to have been able to support it in its great work for many years!
