"KulturLandschaft Günztal"

The KulturLandschaft Günztal Foundation has dedicated itself to restore and preserve the Bavarian river system between Obergünzburg in the eastern Allgäu and Günzburg, located in the valley of the river Danube that winds itself through the Günz valley for 92 km - it is the most extensive river system in Bavaria. Valuable natural habitats can still be found here: pristine wells, natural flowing rivers as well as moors covered with flowers and swampy areas.

In the early nineties, a group of partners consisting of communities, water management and nature conservation offices and organizations established the "Biotope Association Günztal". Since the year 2000, the nature conservation initiatives have a new home – the foundation KulturLandschaft Günztal. This is a one-of-a-kind cooperation in Bavaria.

SALITER sponsors the KulturLandschaft Günztal foundation’s nature conservation work. The flow of the rivers can be revised, ponds created and swampy areas maintained. Moreover, the foundation KulturLandschaft Günztal also promotes and funds public relations work and carries out environmental education projects with schools, such as e.g. the “Green Classroom” or the “Beaver Box”.
