As a traditional dairy factory, we value not only the flawless quality of our products, but also our sustainable production processes. We are convinced that the actions of businesses in the industrialised countries will be a major factor in a green future. We as a company are therefore leading the way by being a good example and taking responsibility – we are actively committing to the fight against climate change, for the sake of humankind and the environment!
As a first step, we’ve engaged with Fokus Zukunft GmbH & Co. KG to help us to investigate the CO2 emissions produced by our dairy business. The results: in the course of our activities, we produce the equivalent of 8,371 tonnes of CO2 pollutant a year. To offset these unavoidable emissions, we have purchased 8,371 climate protection certificates, and thereby settled our environmental balance for the whole of 2021!
But that isn’t enough. So, in our position as a climate-neutral business, we are supporting the Bujagali Hydropower Project in Uganda. The power station and the resulting employment opportunities should have a positive impact on the area and on the country as a whole.
